(H.E.A.L.ING)                COMMUNITIES

  • Cultivating H.E.A.L.ING Communities started as a five-month Solutionary Service-learning experience for (10) Grassroots Community Leaders across Mecklenburg County's Public Health (MCDPH) Priority Areas (PHPAs) with support from MCDPH Grassroots Funding.

  • Due, in part, to a subsequent MCDPH Health Equity "Grow Grant" the experience has expanded to include a learning management system for community connections, collaborations and teaching and learning.

One of Harvesting Humanity's newest experiences- the Equity Youth Engagement & Witness (E.Y.E.WITNESS) Global Fellowship, officially convened on Saturday, April 17th, 2021.  The E.Y.E.WITNESS Global Fellowship is a virtual service-learning fellowship engaging, preparing, and positioning (30) Youth "Solutionaries" ages 16-21  and (10) Adult "Supporting Solutionaries" across the countries of: Cabo Verde, Ghana, Jamaica, Moldova and the United States of America.

Fellowship participants
learn about, reflect on, analyze, evaluate, and craft arguments about issues in their local, national, and global communities.  As they learn, they build relationships with diverse peers and mentors, strengthen their servant leadership muscles, and activate agency by innovating Solutions to those issues.

True to its name, the Fellowship explores issues of inequities and injustices plaguing local, national, and global communities and takes deep dives into examples of models and mentors who challenge those issues and show up as innovative Solutionaries.

The Fellowship will last through 2022 culminating in a "Solutionary Showcase"...BE SURE TO STAY TUNED...
Through poetry, prose, visual, and other Integrated Art forms, Harvesting Humanity CEO- Eboné M. Lockett & E.Y.E.WITNESS Global Fellow- Kai N. Spence share their family's personal and persistent journey living with Sickle Cell Anemia.

In addition to sharing their own stories, they will travel across the country and the globe to accept, affirm, and amplify, the stories of other individuals, families, and communities impacted by this condition.

 "Solar Sistas Serve - (SsS)"©

"SsS" is  A Harvesting Humanity premier Flagship Experience in the federal application phase to be recognized as its own non-profit organization.  This experience was birthed out of the spirit of a partnership program between We Share Solar® , Wells Fargo, M.A. Rogers & the late Jim Rogers, and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) in which Principal consultant, Eboné M. Lockett remains a facilitator and mentor.    We Share Solar® is "an innovative educational program  dedicated to inspiring students to learn about, build, and share Solar Suitcases with the developing world".  SsS supports that model with a unique extension of engagement in local action, integrated (S.T.R.E.A.A.A.M ©) experiential service-learning, and personal and workforce skill development. SsS engages local community members in learning about clean energy solutions and environmental stewardship and prepares and positions servant leaders to disrupt the disparities and inequities in the clean energy industry workforce.  Thus, the experience superserves BIPOC females who make up approximately 2% of the solar workforce.

The fruits of this labor yielded a NC Greenpower Solar School Grant to Hidden Valley Elementary School making it the second Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) to receive this distinction.
